21st Century Naturopathic Medicine

ScienZen. Integrating the best of scientific knowledge with natural, non-invasive therapies.

Specializing in prevention and treatment of hormonal imbalances, chronic illnesses, illnesses associated with aging, allergies and immune system disturbances.

Theraputic options include dietary and lifestyle counseling, herbal medicine, nutraceuticals, physical medicine and homeopathy as appropriate to each individual.

Naturopathic doctors are trained to evaluate the whole person and uncover the hidden causes behind a given illness. Our initial visit with a new patient is thorough and detailed, including a lifestyle assessment as well as a medical history. I work with the patient to remove the obstacles to the body's innate healing mechanisms in addition to using non-invasive, gentle theraputics to ease symptoms and move the body towards a state of wellness. In many cases, an ND will involve a patient's conventional health care provider for decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment, in order for the patient to receive maximum benefit from his or her health care team.

Bio

Leigh-Anne Fraley, ND

CA Licensed Naturopathic Doctor

I am a native Californian who has a lifelong interest in biology, health and well-being. I graduated form Mills College in Oakland, California with a degree in Biology and then worked in the biotechnology industry. Like many people, I became concerned with the "crisis management" model of medicine and began investigating alternatives to drugs and surgery. Looking for a way to combine my respect for the scientific method with a deep knowledge of disease prevention and early intervention strategies, I pursued a graduate education in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Since graduating, I have (in addition to raising my two girls) been a clinician at the Santa Cruz Women's Health Center. I am honored to be an integral part of your health care team, and I look forward to helping you to focus and strengthen your innate healing capacity.
